An intimate study on modern masculinity

"Is Masculinity a performance? One in which we play into in varying different degrees depending on how we perceive it and how we perceive ourselves. Not all those who identify as male feed into what society largely says/believes is masculine and I wanted to study this. I wanted to explore in this day and age what masculinity means to individuals across Gen-Z & millennials. 

 How this formed was from an initial thought about body hair and how much it’s vanished over the years, once a purveyor of manliness it now seems to be stripped back and waxed away disconnecting us further from the animals we are. So I asked is body hair sexy? 

It was with this thought that animals came to mind, I wanted to tap into the tender, a trait that isn’t often seen within masc realms. For me one of the most tender acts is to look after something or someone other than yourself, to truly nourish them with love and I’ve always found the bond between people and animals beautiful and that’s what I wanted to convey the beauty of being beyond the boundaries of masculinity."
